What's An Appointment Like?

We typically meet for an hour at a time, although, the choice is yours.
We explore the following areas:
Your objectives
Description of your current condition
Description of your desired future state
Challenges to achieving that
Exploration of manageable steps toward your objectives

I mainly listen deeply, ask reflective questions, reflect back to you what
wisdom I hear buried in your comments, test for agreement, offer
alternatives, compassionately challenge you when you need it, and
walk with you to get you on a productive and fulfilling path.

Recommendations From Clients:

“Margaret is an extremely intelligent, articulate, and perceptive person.
She thinks out of the box and leads others out of their boxes. A born
philosopher, she creates an immensely valuable contribution drawing
wisdom out of others that provides the receiver with a lasting process.”

Charles M. Denny, retired CEO, ADC Telecommunications, Inc.

“Approaching 70 years of age, I wanted to optimize my future years. I hired a life coach. Within two sessions, I felt as if Margaret had known me forever. Her questions led me to discover my own wisdom, vision, and to develop an action plan. Margaret is safe, nonjudgmental, and professional. Her guidance has far exceeded my expectations."
      Sue Davern,
Happier person, wife, mother, and grandmother

"I highly recommend Margaret Lulic’s services. When I read her first book, Who We Could Be At Work, it impacted me deeply. I had begun writing, The Not So Big House, but was struggling with how to do justice to both writing and managing an architectural firm. With Margaret’s adept advice and counsel, I learned I could do things I hadn’t thought possible.

She helped me discover that devoting myself to my writing career was my heart’s true longing. I couldn’t have become the author I am today without the help she gave me. I was able to let go of the role of managing partner completely and leave the firm in such a way that it continues to flourish. It was truly a transformative journey, and one that I wouldn’t trade for anything. She is clear, firm when necessary, and always graceful, and is someone who almost everyone responds to positively."
      Sarah Susanka, Architect and Author
Selected as a Cultural Innovator by U.S. News and World Report

"My partner and I were struggling to make some very expensive changes to the exterior of our duplex including stucco, windows, and color. We couldn't seem to agree on anything. An exciting and creative process was turning into conflicts. In short order, Margaret helped us define a process that would get us back in harmony and collaboration. She's really creative and easy to work with.”
      Minneapolis Homeowners

"An adult child has unique insights about a parent's capabilities. Margaret Lulic is my mom and she has coached me throughout my life. My teachers and employers consistently comment that my insight, leadership skills, and creativity greatly exceed their expectations for someone my age. I give my mom a lot of credit for her wisdom and creativity in using our home to give me growth experiences. I strongly encourage you to take advantage of the coaching she offers."
Laura Hanstad, Administrative Specialist, Minneapolis Community & Technical College

  • Bored? Find Some Meaning.
Are you bored? With your home? Work? Life? The lack of real spring? Occasional moments or a day of boredom is normal but staying in that mindset isn’t in your well-being. According to Mihaly Csikszentmihaly, a Hungarian psychology professor who introduced the idea of flow states, boredom sits between apathy and relaxation and across from [...]
  • Define “Home.” How Is It Different From a House?
There is a distinct difference between a house and a home. This deserves more attention. One of the biggest differences is in feelings. A home makes you want to stay and curl up. It seems to hold you, comfort you, and affect the quality of your life. It can even help you heal as discussed [...]
  • Seek Meaningful Beauty. Know Why It Matters.
Have you considered why beauty matters to you and others? Even ancient cultures invested in beauty. Baskets were woven to incorporate lovely designs that served no functional purpose. So, beauty seems to matter to humans in some innate way. I think it please our spirits in a meaningful way. In the book, If Aristotle Ran [...]
